It is generally accepted that medications, including health and wellness supplements, transfer into human milk to some degree. Most medications and supplements do so at low levels. Only rarely does the amount transferred into milk produce clinically relevant doses in the infant.

We here at MaryRuth’s have not done testing to see what amount of the Multivitamin or Multimineral is found in breast milk or in the breast-fed infant.

In general, everyone should check with their physician or healthcare professional before beginning any new wellness supplement to make sure the supplement is suitable for their health. Your physician, OB-GYN, pediatrician or healthcare professional knows you and your infant best, knows what other supplements or prescriptions you and your infant are already on, as well as knowing if you or your infant are facing any health challenges.

We would suggest you see your respective physician, OB-GYN or your infant's pediatrician or healthcare professional and have them assist you in determining if the product is suitable for you while breastfeeding and, in turn, for your infant receiving some of those nutrients through the breast milk.
